Terms

What you agree to by using this site.

The pages are information. The four free tools are a service, offered as they are, for sites you are entitled to check. Paid work runs under a written engagement, and the prices and conditions on the pricing page are the terms it starts from.

The free tools

  • What they do. Each check makes a small number of ordinary requests from Cloudflare's network to the address you give it, or looks up the addresses you paste, and reads what comes back. What that means for your data is on the privacy page.
  • What they are for. Sites you own or are authorised to check. Each tool states its rate limit on its page. Do not point them at a site you have no right to test, and do not automate them. The run endpoints are disallowed in this site's robots.txt for the same reason.
  • What a result is. One observation, from one network, at one moment. A site behind a CDN may answer a request from Cloudflare differently from the crawler it names, and every result page says so. A result is a reading to check against your own logs. It is not advice, and a change made on the strength of one is your decision.
  • No warranty. The tools are provided as they are, with no promise that they are available, current or correct. We may refuse an address, change a tool or withdraw one without notice.

Engagements

Two products, priced in full on the pricing page: the diagnostic audit and the monthly technical retainer, with implementation blocks quoted per block and the agency channel on application. An engagement runs under a written agreement with Auspex SEO that sets out scope, access, price and the severity scale the refund is judged against. Where that agreement and this page differ, the agreement applies.

  • Refund. The audit fee is refunded in full if the audit produces no finding at or above a severity agreed in writing before work starts. The scale is agreed first so that the result can be judged against it.
  • Credit. The audit fee is credited in full against the first month of a retainer that starts within 30 days of delivery.
  • Retainer. Billed monthly in advance, Net 14. The initial term is one month. After that, a month's notice to stop. There is no setup fee beyond the audit.
  • No guaranteed outcome. No ranking, citation or traffic result is promised, and no payment depends on one. What is promised is the work, on the published cadence, with every figure traceable to the source that produced it.
  • Access. Delegated to a named identity, logged, and revocable without you changing a credential. What we ask for, and what we turn down, is on the privacy page.

This site

  • Copyright. The text and figures on this site belong to Auspex SEO. Quote them with attribution and a link. Do not republish a page in full.
  • The typeface. Instrument Serif is used under the SIL Open Font License, and the licence is served alongside the font files at /assets/fonts/OFL.txt. Everything else is system type, and the figures were drawn for this site.
  • External figures. Every statistic on these pages is linked to its source and dated where it appears. Numbers in this field decay in months, so check the source before relying on one.
  • Availability. Correspondence is answered the next business day. This is not a same-day or on-call service, and the tools carry no uptime commitment.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the State of Washington, and a dispute under them is heard in the courts of that state.
